The country is still slowly getting back to normal, the Ship Inn at Ouseburn has a bustling beer garden, the roads are a little busier and Ouseburn Trust are welcoming back volunteers to help them in their endavor to keep the community safe and tidy.

Charlotte, Louise, Michael, Tom, Ross and I were keen to get our garden gloves on and loppers back in hand to cut back the bramble and overgrown thicket on a path and road in Ouseburn. Dave and Dale tell us that the paths are used quite frequently for dog walkers and families who are visiting this quaint area of Newcastle, so making it look a bit neater and helping people avoid thorns is definitely a helpful task!

Split into 2 groups, we made quick work of cutting through the brambles without any bad scratches or scrapes (even thought we all had somewhat exposed legs given the evening's warmth!). In under an hour Michael, Louise and Tom were calling us down from the hill and we marched merrily back to the tool shed to put things away and sanitise.

A satisifying task and one we hope we'll be back to keep on top of in weeks to come!
