Only two more group runs of the year left - how has this happened? Time flies when you're having fun and doing good! What a year it's been...
News you can use
If you fancy a little community mission on Friday, and you have time during the day, then why not sign up for this natty little number helping out Evolve Housing in the Roehampton Asda.
Dates for your diary! Our last run of the year is a very special one happening on 19th December, and our first run back (hurrah) is on 9th January.
** A litter bit o' what you love does you good**
We were celebrating Hannukah in Hounslow last night, so after a warm up, we talked about our favourite fried food. Good job we all like running, because we also love fried squid, chips and doughnuts!
To offset the lovely chocolate gold coins that Remy had kindly bought us, we set off for our task at a good steady pace. Our job tonight was for a local residents' association which has a big litter problem. So after 2k we found RA leader Elisabeth waiting for us with bags, litter pickers, gloves and instructions on the problem hot spots. It wouldn't be GoodGym without a little element of competition, so we split into two teams (red and blue) to see who could get the most litter in the time allotted. Now, I'm not saying it was fixed, but the blue team did seem to be having a bit of an issue with faulty pickers, while the red team came back with a suspiciously large but of plastic bumper they 'found'...but all is fair in glove and war!
After half an hour the area was much more clear of plastic bags, beer cans, bottles and wrappers, and our bags were full. So after returning them to Elisabeth, we trotted back to base. Despite having a killer fitness session planned (or maybe because...) the team succumbed to the sudden rain and voted against a session. But don't worry - double next week!
For our Hannukah social, we retired to the pub to spin the dreidel with varying degrees of skill - but if you want to see the advanced upside down technique as demonstrated by Remy, check it out here.
Next week we have our last (maybe...probably not) session painting the railings at the local Church and foodbank. Sign up here for our penultimate run of the year!

I completely disagree with those insinuations. Red team won fair and square!!
