As another potential lockdown looms the GoodGym gang got out doing good once more on the canal towpaths either side of the beautiful Aylestone Mill Lock.

We were due to include some litter picking in the task tonight but on the lunchtime scope out visit Huw bumped into some wonderful folks from the Aylestone Meadows Appreciation Society doing just that so the path looked pretty tidy when we arrived to get to work.

Meeting at Aylestone Mill Lock we split into two groups, one heading county bound towards the Canal St Bridge and the other heading city bound with the objective being to help clear obstructions caused by overhanging branches so walkers, runners and cyclists could enjoy smooth passage along this charmingly peaceful part of the city. Some serious garden envy from us with all the houses that had gardens running right down to the water's edge.

Each group covered around 600m so a cracking 1.2km stretch of the path is now more passable for those who use it. A range of bumps and niggles (and the impending Virtual London Marathon) meant that just Huw and Steve headed out for a post task run to the King Power Stadium at which point Steve diverted off to run home and Huw returned down to Canal St.

Super work everyone.
