Christmas For CAMHS
Christmas For CAMHS is a registered charity who provides special Christmas gifts every year for children and young people who are inpatients in child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) wards across the UK over the Christmas holiday period. We want to make children and young people who are inpatients over the festive season feel thought-about, special and included - our individual gifts for each young person to keep, as well as gifts for their ward, help us to do this.

The charity Christmas for CAMHS (Children and Adolescents Mental Health Services) has asked for volunteers to prepare paper chain making kits for young people in hospital over Christmas to make decorations.

Christmas for CAMHS provides Christmas gifts and goodies every year for children and young people who are in-patients in CAMHS wards across the UK over the festive period. The charity ensures that they feel thought about, special, remembered and included in what can be a very difficult time to be in hospital.

The paper chain project has been running for the last two years and, as well as providing a fun activity on the ward and creating some awesome decorations it is also a symbol of the patients' connection with the outside world, linking them with the community who are thinking about them.

We would need to cut the strips, decorate and write jokes on them and then bundle them up to send to Christmas at CAMHS.

This is a really worthwhile project and an INDOOR task! We will meet in Hall and Woodhouse to create the chains and have a festive drink to celebrate the season.

I'll bring rulers, pencils, scissors, stampers, coloured pens, paper clips and good quality wrapping paper - but if you have some you think would be good then bring it along.

The charity has come up with the jokes to be written on the chains to avoid any awkwardness.
