23 lovely runners ran 3km to help paint and tidy up at the Greenwich & Bexley hospice charity shop!

It was a super warm evening last night, which meant a lot of our fair weather runners came out to play! Yay! No newbies this week, but a great turnout of 23 nonetheless which is WONDERFUL!

Getting spooked

Since it's Halloween soon, we went round the circle and discussed the scariest films we've seen.... turns out a lot of us have accidentally watched scary films when we were young which have now subsequently scarred us for life. But if anyone does want to scare themselves this Halloween, at least now you have a list of potentials!

We did a little warm up with some squats, lunges, high knees etc and then headed off to the charity shop!

As always, we were greeted by the lovely Jane & Sarah who had got everything ready for us. There were 8 paintbrushes and a team of 8 lovely ladies to match. Well actually 9 because I clearly couldn't count, sorry Vickie, but you did make a great supervisor and motivator, very complimentary of the paint strokes.

The rest of the crew took to the wipes and started cleaning shelves and windows. Others tidied up the clothes and make sure everything was facing the right away etc.

Nina changed some of the mannequins so they were a bit more festive ready for Christmas party season, and she even had a go on the till and put through a purchase... nice!

Long lost hoover

Unfortunately the hoover brush had gone walkabouts so hoovering wasn't the easiest of tasks. Ben gave it a go but had to revert back to an old school broom.... he got the job done though, as always :)

Time was ticking away and the paint room was looking lovely! Just one corner left to go which Saskia managed to do in the nick of time... and then we were off!

But not before a group photo of course!

Everyone grabbed an item to wear. Brin actually looked pretty good in that trench coat, although as Vickie pointed out, he did look a bit like a flasher.... and Sam sported his new holiday purchase. Nice one!

We said our goodbyes and ran back to the uni, along the river this time, and then did a little core workout! A load of planks and crunches and a few partner exercises thrown in there too just to really get those abs fired up! After a few rounds, we were finito! A little stretch and then time for some Jammie Dodgers.

Big well done last night gang! Any help at the shop is always hugely appreciated and the paint job looked lovely! Hopefully we'll be back in a few weeks to give it another coat. See you next week!
