A few you good gym members came together to plant some trees in Mill Hill Barnet. The hundreds of trees were being planted as a memorial forest for the victims of COVID-19.
But of course planting new woodland is important in improving air quality, reduce flooding, improve water quality, and of course helping to remove carbon from the air.
Three of us cycled from Stephens house and gardens along an old railway line which emerged very near the site. We met others hard at work picking out the trees to plant at already specified locations. It was a cold beautiful day with bright sunshine so glorious conditions to plant new trees.
It was great to see lots of individuals, groups and young families getting stuck in to the planting. This is a truly an important investment for the future.
As a group we estimated we planted 15 to 20 trees before heading home. thank you for coming cycling / walking and doing some good!
We will be doing more of this in The New Year please join the community mission listed for tiny forests.
