Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Dickson
Christmas post came early in Bexley last night as the Goodgym Bexley team headed out to deliver the santa dash leaflets for. After a quick recce of our route we warmed up with some dynamic stretches, then with leaflets in hand we headed out to our location. Now this may be a surprise to you but leaflet dropping as a team is a really good running drill. I would compare it to fartlek (Swedish for speed play) training. Why? Well because there is a lot of different paces involved. You're sprinting to to keep up with the flow, you're slowing down once you hit the gardens, you're stopping to post the leaflets etc, etc.......... At Bexley Goodgym we believe we have leaflet dropping down to a T ;-). We weave in and out the gardens like a perfect caterpillar. It actually looks really awesome, and we always get comments from passers by asking whats going on. This is my perfect time to have a quick chat and to hand out one of our Goodgym cards. Within 28 minutes our good deed was completed. Well done gang. A quick check of the Garmin showed we had actually done 5.2K in distance.
Within 28 minutes our good deed was completed.
Now nice and warm, it was time to head back to our start point. It so happened that was back up a hill that we had weaved our way down whilst doing our deed. It was time to dig deep, remember, hills are king!! and are just awesome for building run strength and endurance. Well thats that. Another deed smashed! and smiles all round on another job and run completed. Just wanna say well done gang for coming out and making Monday evenings not only awesome for me, but for all the great people, community projects and Charities we are helping. YOU ROCK!!! Before i sign off i just want to put a big shout out to Susan for completing her Run Leader training Sunday. AWESOME!!! Until next week..........
