Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
25 glorious GoodGymers ran 6k to St Lukes Church to help with the the summer fair clear up.
On a night with perfect running conditions we started with a DBS check flurry! Luckily for me our new Hackney Coach Run rep Andreana was on hand to help wi h the ID checks as well as giving a great passionate first Coach run speech in the pre run briefing.
The improved running from the great consistant training that has been put in over the last weeks and months was on show as we took the long route to St Lukes with a strong 3k loop with a few activation exercises thrown in for good measure. Arriving at St Lukes we met the super energetic Keli, who has a huge range of tasks for us to do, we split up into mini groups and got cracking! Bunting was removed, carpet hoovered, garden weeded, clothes rail assembled, lost property sorted (and styled), chairs aggranged, toys assembled for toddler group, balls evacuated from roof and even a cheeky game of throw and catch to round things off.
An action pact 40 minutes saw us compete the tasks and with a huge thank you from Keli we were on our way with the Race back to Base! this week we had a addition to the groups with the Sexy crew setting off first then 3 minutes later the Speedy tribe got going then finalially the newly formed Lightning group scorched their trail back. Some top running saw us complete the 3k in record time and maybe next week team Lightning might not resort to the underhanded short cut tactics.
A series of static stretches and big round of applause finished off the session and it was left for 13 of us to refuel at Steak night for the monthly social. Thank you for coming out always great to chat, hydrate and restore the glycogen levels after a top run.
Next week we are off to the Wilton Estate for a whole lot of lifting and Shifting be great to have you along so please sign up here.
Also on Thursday evening at 6pm I will be leading the second GoodGym London Fitness group at Lincon's Inn Field 1 minute from Holbourn station beg rest to have you along to that to, please sign up here for that.
Smooth Lightning
