7 beautifully honed runners ran 1.5k to a community garden, sawed wood for plant pest protectors, then ran back

After mooching about on foreign shores for nine days, I was keen to get back in the GoodGym mix to give me some self worth again. I mean, how long can you hang around on a beach, whilst sipping cold lager and enjoying that book you've been meaning to read? Nine days is the answer to that.

Met at base by six altruistic fitness go-getters. We went over the benefits of missions, their convenience and ease. Just need to register yourself and have a look what's out there. No obligation, super easy - make it happen guys! Then into our ritual questions and answers session. "Which actress/actor would you take to the pub for a few drinks?" This quickly spiralled out of control, into 'who do you really fancy?'. Which in fairness, is a decent game in itself!

The fresh trip over to Mobile Garden City was over before we knew it. We shuffled in, read the instructions, and then re-read instructions. The word 'penis' happened to be on the task instruction sheet, in numerous different sentences. As the person reading, I began to stutter and rub my eyes. Not a word my brain registered with a community garden that creates a lovely environment for local residents. As it so happens, a clever dick, drew a penis inside one of the tool huts. Quite a large one too. One of our jobs was to paint over said organ.

The second job was to create a plant protection unit for the some of the fruit and veg. Our able carpenters jumped onto this opportunity. Measuring the pieces with precision. Sawing the thirty two separate pieces with a gritty GoodGym flair. Then positioning in tidy piles, with subtle hints of obsessive compulsive disorder. This was a job that Jesus' father, Joseph, would be mightily proud of.

The final job was to deconstruct/destroy a large boot made from bamboo(?), or some other wood. Tim and Alice hopped to it. First though, Tim clambered inside it, of course - see photographic evidence below. They wrapped this up in minutes.

We downed tools at 8pm and slid away to back to base. Finishing with a core circuit on the uncomfortable gravel - my cock up. I wouldn't want to give you a cock and bull story about the benefits of training on gravel. I went off half-cocked, my apologies. A few people cocked a snook at me for this, that's understandable too. My intention was not to be cock of the roost, I hope your elbows forgive me.....and I'll stop cocking about now. (sorry I had to get some puns out, I tried to be mature, but it was actually killing my soul)

A lovely meal and a few drinks later, we finished an awesome social. I do hope more make it next time on the 16th of November.

Next week we are at the view tube, always fun there - sign up here

Have a cracking week...and log some runs people!
