Easter runny!
Ahead of the Easter bank holiday weekend, 10 of us met last night to spread the word about how you can volunteer or take part in this years Ealing Half Marathon! Alongside lots of lovely regulars we welcomed new runners Jermaine and Caroline for their first experience of running and doing good! Give them a cheer!
EHM is a CIC which means unlike lots of other big races they aim to raise a surplus which is ploughed back into our local community, you can read more about the EHM legacy here. It's bloody fantasic!
With that in mind we headed towards Lammas Park where the race starts every year, here we split into three groups hitting the surrounding streets armed with leaflets about how you can get involved with volunteering (aka becoming a high vis hero) or running at this years event.
Drop 'til we stop!
After 40 minutes of non stop dropping we reconvened and compared notes, hopefully our efforts will lead to an influx of sign ups for helping and taking part in this years event! We finished up with some intervals in Walpole Park (it's so brilliant to have the light evenings back and be able to use our beautiful parks again) and even threw in a bit of competitive race walking before heading back to base for a stretch!
If you'd like to be involved with this year event through GoodGym then head over to our event page!
The aim is simply to organise and manage a fully road closed mass participation race to raise a surplus which is ploughed back into community projects.
