Say hello, wave goodbye

Like all good British conversations, this one starts with the weather! Tonight’s task was rearranged after being cancelled due to the heatwave last month.
We’re just coming out of another heatwave but the forecast for the evening was for heavy rain and thunderstorms! Fortunately though, Aimee and I were treated to a cool, dry, still evening for our uphill slog from the Cycle Hub to Recyke y’bike - a bit of a cycling theme here!
We were greeted by task owner extraordinaire Sara, who as always was ready for us. We should take a minute to note that this is our last task with Sara at Recyke as she has a new job. However, as we wave goodbye we say hello - Sara is keen to get us busy with tasks in her new workplace, Stepney Bank Stables. We can’t wait!
The task tonight was a simple one of sweeping and mopping. Sara explained that the pigeons get in through the vents and had been particularly “active” lately! This meant that there were lots of feathers to sweep up and lots of the other stuff that pigeons tend to drop to be mopped! It’s a big space but between Sara, Aimee and I we were able to make quite a difference.
We left for our downhill jog back to the hub, knowing we’d made a difference, looking forward to catching up with Sara in her new job and hoping to continue our great partnership with Recyke’s new manager.
