Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Panettone those legs!
Just when we thought we had eaten the last of our selection boxes and were finally down to just the rubbishy Celebrations (bounty's and snickers) along came GoodGym Richmond's task at the Vineyard Community Centre.
But before all that Mark had us hoofing up a few hills. We left our base at Wholefoods and paced ourselves up quite an epic slope, celebrating at the top with some press ups and dips. It all went downhill from there for some of the group....while others ran off to conquer a near vertical path with some sprints.
It was a great turn out with some new faces having travelled a long way to put in the hard yards ( I hope you are in the Spa today!) and what better way to kick off the week than helping sort through clothes donations for the Vineyard's drop in sessions. The Centre helps meet the needs of people (sometimes over 40 a day) who are in crisis or homeless in numerous ways and demand is growing.
Like the amazing team that we are, everyone paired, folded and organised items such as socks, t-shirts, tops and trousers so that our host and centre manager Desiree could use her spanking new shelves to make life easier when giving out the clothes later in the week.
Desiree inspired us by showing everyone the good works that the Vineyard Centre do for the Richmond community including the brilliant bargains in the charity shop and the treats in the cafe. Before we left we were forced (OK not forced) into accepting cupcakes and panettone for our hard work.
Running back to Wholefoods holding our cakes we agreed we looked like part of a crazy new fitness craze/diet group where you are literally motivated by cakes dangled in front of you! It could catch on?!
A well deserved sugar rush for everyone after all the hard work!
Big shout to Gillian for this Run report Elaine for the Pun Liam and Faye for their first run.....
Great running Richmond!!
