38 mega runners head on down to complete a stocktake at Vauxhall Foodbank, weighing over 4 tonnes of food!
This evening it was less cold but more rain. Swings and roundabouts running fans! We headed off on the 3km stretch down to Vauxhall Foodbank. They'd already tweeted us telling us there was lots to do - we had to do a stock take of all of the food they have at the moment. Thanks to a very generous public over the festive period, there was loads!
Luckily for us, the lovely Faith who manages the foodbank is one organised lady, so she soon set us to work in teams. Trainer Katie took small groups to one side and went through some body conditioning using the cans as weights. Everyone swapped over so that they got to sort food and sort out their bodies too.
We managed to complete the whole stock take in one hour and the team at the Foodbank were thrilled. It would have taken them days to do it themselves. And with that, we dashed back through the rain with some almost out of date mince pies under our arms. 'Eat your mince pies!' Shouted Katie, as otherwise she would have had to take them all home.
Eat your mince pies!
Well done to all who came along and MASSIVE CHEERS to the wonderful Rebecca Nellis for being the first GG Lambeth member to smash the 200 good deeds mark and for winning January's Shit Prize of the Month. We hope you enjoy your Frozen walkie talkies.
