Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Joel Wiles
6 ballistic GoodGymers bounded their way to St Andrew’s Youth club for some social sporting integration with the clubs members.
A humid run through the heart of town took us to the Oldest Youth Club in the world. After a year of our monthly visits to clean, clear, stack, and sort out any number of things in the youth club to help to keep the funding focused on the clubs amazing youth focused activities. As a thank you towards the end of the school year we play our now annual Kin Ball game.
With the huge Kin Ball being pumped up we had time for a warm up game of Table Tennis organised by one of the youth club members. With some very hotly contested games to get our eye in and Frances dominating on the chess board to sharpen her mind for the Kin Ball challenge ahead!
We were called through and the epic Kin Ball challenge commenced! Probably the toughest workout in GoodGym history as we battled bravely in the name of Red Thunder!
Nothing can quite prepare you for the Kin Ball battle, a combination of basketball, football, volleyball, rugby but most importantly enjoyment and heart were in full effect!
Probably sweatier than running a marathon!! 30 minutes of relentless exercise with Team GG playing above our numerical number before mixing up the teams for the final stanza! Awesome to have such fun on a Westminster Wednesday and the youth club members were an absolute credit to themselves, St Andrews and their families. Brilliant sportsperson ship was great to see and created a great atmosphere to a great time.
With high fives all around and sone much needed hydration we ran back the 2.5k to New Balance with a serious workout complete.
Great work and look forward to seeing you next week.
