Sometimes furniture moving missions are quick and easy. Sometimes they aren’t... This mission was the latter!

Mrs C’s two daughters showed us what needed moving - a single bed to come downstairs into the living room and two sofas to be moved upstairs into bedrooms. We first moved the bed, which was quick and easy. Then we looked at the sofas and realised we might have a challenge on our hands. Aside from the top cushions, the sofas could not be taken apart, so we were going to have to move them as they were. And they weren’t small! We started with the two seater sofa. We had to flip, twist and roll it into the hall, over the bannister and round the stairs. It was lucky there were three of us for the mission! With a lot of squishing and Friends-style ‘pivot!’ moments, we got it into the bedroom. Next was the three seater sofa. We soon realised that it was too long to stand up on the stairs. We managed to take the feet off the sofa, and even tore the bottom of it to see if it could be taken apart in any other way. But it just wasn’t happening - no amount of squashing and turning was getting this sofa upstairs. We put our heads together and came up with a new solution: put the one seater chair upstairs and manoeuvre the three seater around the living room to make space for the hospital bed. The one seater was a breeze comparatively. So a solution was found and Mrs C can now come home to her daughters!
