Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Ms. A had a few things going on with her mobile phone that needed some attention…
Old as the phone was, the battery would no longer hold a charge. Ms. A did have a spare handset with a battery of a very similar form-factor. With a bit of encouragement it did physically fit the phone, but it didn’t do a lot, and upon inspection of the labels the charge in the spare was lower (950mAh instead of 1100mAh if you’re asking) Unfortunately it wouldn’t be suitable. I suggested using the spare handset with it’s functioning battery, but she said she’d prefer to stay with the old handest, and get a new battery for it when the shops re-opened in April.
The next issue was her messages. She’d not received an SMS since October 2020, because her Inbox was full. I deleted everything in there to create some space, and immediately it started buzzing with new messages.
Thirdly was her phone contacts. She wanted to delete some, so we went through the address book one by one, determining who or what each number was and deciding whether she wanted to keep it. This meant looking up around 30 numbers one-by-one online, to determine exactly who they were. All of this on a T9 keypad phone no less, ha.
She was very gracious and I was glad to get back and get the mud off my previously clean shoes. Turns out Hampstead Heath is dead muddy 🤷‍♂️
