Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Yianny (he / him)
Spring vibes last night at GoodGym Lambeth! After some awful rainy days we had a bright and chilly evening with lots of sunlight to cheer us on our way to the evening's task - phew.
A quick thank you to our new partners Raleigh bikes as well who sent some fantastic Tony's Chocolonely and postcards to mark our new partnership - see joyous photos of Kaz and Joao (with bikes in tow!) with their goodies.
We were off to meet Andrea from GROAD at Shurgard in Herne Hill to prepare for Friday's Big Spring Swap at Brixton Library (more details here). The task was a simple one where we had to prepare bags and boxes of the donations that have come in into categories and then load them into the van.
We had team 1 with Marie-Noelle and Charlotte on pairing shoes, team 2 Joao, Paul and Kaz running the trolleys back and forth to the van and team 3 with Frances and Yianny emptying and separating the sacks of donations that have come in from Crisis.
It was an immensely satisfying task to be able to put adult clothes together, children's clothes, toys and shoes in pairs and by 8pm we were done and bit dusted! One thing to say is that for anyone heading down to the Spring Swap there are some fantastic donations to be bartered for so don't miss out.
And so that was that, task complete, Andrea happy, runners and walkers happy and all fuelled by a bit of socially conscious chocolate - good times!
Thanks everyone and see you next week.
