In contrast to the hottest day of the year last Thursday it was rather chilly and drizzling with rain as I leapt on my bike to scurry over to Sonali Gardens to pick up some food parcels to deliver to local residents.

Due to the vagaries of work I was somewhat later to arrive this time but of the remaining handful of parcels I recognised one of the addresses from last week so picked up that bundle knowing that I'd enjoy helping the same individual twice in two weeks (and it also happens to be a very nice walk in the direction of Wapping so a win-win situation).

I scampered south and in no-time had dropped off the parcels at both houses, having a most pleasant chat with the lady at the second address before cycling back off home, pleased with my lunchtime outing.

If you happen to be free on Thursday lunchtime they are looking for a couple more volunteers for the same quick delivery to local residents and you can sign up here!
