Oh summer, you tease!

On a day that saw the second largest number of people vaccinated in the UK so far (762,000 in 24 hours!) I was posted outdoors on a day that saw some of London's worst torrential downpours of the year too.

Large queues of alternately umbrella wielding or soggy people were quickly and efficiently guided through each step of the process. My task was to ask screening questions. One of those was 'have you been abroad in the last 14 days?' The irony was not lost that my clipboard of LAMINATED questions was waterlogged to near indecipherability.

The vaccination centres are extremely busy right now, and really need your help as the overlap between first vaccinations and second doses becomes larger. If you are in or near Hackney, contact alex.chase@vhackney.org and they will set you up on the website to sign up for 3-hour shifts at a time. Mention you're from GoodGym and remember that such volunteering is entirely GoodGym good deed worthy.
