A Little Help for the Lovely Mr H
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Monday, 26th of October 2020
Tonight was lovely.
The run from Greenwich to Southwark had me seeing the sun descend into twilight. The best time of day. And by the time I got to Mr H's darkness had startled to settle in for the evening.
Which was perfect timing. As it was then that I met Mr H. Warm, welcoming, it felt like I was visiting an old friend. And friends brighten the dark.
Mr H recently got a new phone - a gift from the kind people at Age UK - and we spent the first 25 minutes working it out together. Technology is great. When it works and when we know how to use it. And that's what we got to grips with. Just me, Mr H, and a little joint learning.
We then spent the next few minutes shooting the breeze. Mr H is a lifelong, born and bred Londoner. And we chatted about exploring our city, its history, and life. It was lovely - a small window into Mr H and his life.
And then it was time to shoot. Back to Greenwich via New Cross and Blackheath Common. These early evenings aren't all that bad, right?
Nice one.
