Sitting beneath the variety and multitude of foibles and differences that create the wonderfulness of human uniqueness, I think it's safe to say that there is one universal truth. A truth, for its sheer truthfulness, which we shall call the truth of truths. And that truth is, of course, that people are either 'organisers' (like me) or 'lazy' (like the bloomin' rest of them).

Sound right and fair?

I think it does.

Which is good, because I met a fellow organiser on Thursday evening. Mr J, in addition to being kind, warm, friendly, and lovely, is also exceptionally organised. On arrival at Mr J's, I was presented with a costed shopping list and the exact amount of cash needed. Now, I have to admit I was a touch dubious. Others had previously given me 'costed' lists, but these came with margins of error. Margins that were often slightly bigger than margins.

But something felt different here. Maybe it was the way Mr J talked, with his smile on his lips, warm and accurate. He exuded a different feeling. And it imbued me, imbued me with a feeling of confidence. Would this be a GG first? Surely not? Would this be my first fully costed mission..?

I departed Mr J's with curiosity cupping my mind. This was, quite possibly, the most intrigued I'd been for months and months. It was first to a newsagent's to grab a couple of electricity and gas top-ups. So far, so far costed. And then it was a short hop to Lewisham High St and its Iceland store for a few essentials. Carrots and broccoli - 2 packs for £4, potato chips, 2 packs for £3... added and tallied, added and tallied. And then it was a final dash to Sainsbury's for a few packs of cheese crackers before a short ramble back to Mr J's.

Which, despite Mr J's groceries, was a light ramble. Light because I didn't have any change. Not a single penny. Mr J had it down and dusted, organiser supremo.

Silliness aside, I left Mr J's smiling on Thursday. He, despite not leaving his flat at the moment, was wonderfully warm, friendly, and interesting. It was a joy, if only for a snippet, to share a little time with him. So thank you for that, Mr J.

Nice one.
