8 GoodGymers made their way to Glyndon Community Centre
The air was cool, the night was young, and love was in the air for 8 GoodGymers who met at their usual spot outside of the Elizabeth line in Woolwich. In celebration of our Valentines theme Sara, our esteemed run leader, asked us all to share what our good, clean, self-loving pleasures were! (Ooh, err, misses! 😂) After our usual fun warm up games, including how to tell our left from our right, we headed for a gentle run up the steep banks of Woolwich to the Glyndon Community Centre.
Once there we were met by the lovely caretaker Andy, who never fails to set us a good task. This week was no exception. The main task was to declutter one of the rooms. Included in this was to take apart some old desks, detangle a mass of wires and cables, clear out a large cupboard filled with old computers, monitors, tech kit and boxes. We all set about doing our bit, and Brin was able to make use of his DIY skills by using the drill!
After not too long our tasks were finished and the room was cleared and tidy. We all felt very pleased with our handiwork. The wires were detangled, and the desks were dismantled. A job well done! Looking at the once cutting-edge computer technology made it feel like a trip down memory lane. Oh, how times move quickly these days!
After a quick group snap, we then said our goodbyes to Andy and headed back down the hill to Woolwich town centre. The run back down is always fun after the initial climb up. Once back in Dial Arch Square Sara, our run leader, said we had enough time for a quick fitness session which we got right into. Then it was time for a quick cool down before calling it quits and heading home after a job well done! It really was a love(ly) evening!
