26 Goodgymers ran between 4-6km, helped Skip Garden & Castlehaven

Welcome to newbies Ali & Jenny - lovely to have you along! Big news of the week is we have a New Taskforce at Camden: Kat, Katherine, John and Rosie - lovely to have you as part of the team!

In other news:

  1. Last GG Monthly Drinks of the year next Thursday in Stratford - all details here
  2. GG Christmas Party is on Friday 8th December at Battersea Art Centre - costume theme is BLACK & RED (we've been advised that it is actually Black OR Red but we reckon go with black and red first!)

Nice one to Alex for dressing as death & running around Camden with the costume on!

PB's group of 14 headed to Castlehaven Community Centre to help this amazing community hub with their parks. After 2km of running we'd arrived, the team did various drills while PB collected the keys and tools.

Splitting into two groups we took on the two parks; sweeping and clearing leaves. Focusing around the fences, nurseries, changing rooms and quads we did some smashing work in 25 minutes. We piled up 20 bags of leaves and post group pic ran to Granary Square via the canal.

Two of Camden's favourites

Pritesh had eleven followers go with him to Skip Garden, they did the following tasks:

  • Moved loads of soil from a big bag to little bags to be used in the future
  • Moving an iron stove and setting up an accompanying chimney in a tent
  • Turned the Ridan compost machine which is broken but needed turning to help empty it to be fixed

After smashing through the tasks the group did a meet and retreat around granary square, an exhausting game of stuck in the mud and some calmer group drills.

Once both groups were all collected together we did a progression run around Granary Square, getting faster at each corner.

Fantastic evening as always, thanks for coming! Sign up for next week here it's our monthly visit to Cecil Sharp House.

PB out.
