Report written by Liv Parker-Scott
Today I had the pleasure of helping out at City Harvest in Acton.
After regularly volunteering there last year it was great to be back sorting surplus food with some other amazing volunteers.
After the three mile run there, my three hour shift had lots in store including sorting two huge crates of pears, arranging all the bread by date and sorting ready meals from the Amazon delivery that comes in daily. My last task of the day was to make up boxes of dried goods and this week they had a HUGE delivery of popcorn from Pret.
So we ended on a corny note!
City Harvest helps put surplus food to good use in a sustainable way, by distributing to organisations that feed the hungry.
