Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Between a rock and a hard place
Amongst the many hills of Sydenham Hill, Frances and I crossed paths at the bottom of ‘rock hill’. Together we began our steep ascent upwards, glad that our task tonight wasn’t to do hill sprints here! Thankfully it wasn’t long before we reached the ‘top of the rock’ and arrived at our destination. We were shortly joined by Rebecca who had also had a delightful and warming tour of the Sydenham Hills! ⛰
We were warmly welcomed in and upstairs by Mrs M, Mr A’s wife. After “hellos” were said we got stuck into our task tonight, moving and switching furniture to create some space for Mr A’s new armchair.
Sofa, so good 🛋
We started off by moving the sofa into the middle of room, with Rebecca ensuring the carpet and skirting boards were impeccably hoovered. Mr A then switched from his armchair to his wheelchair which allowed his old armchair to be placed where the sofa had previously been.
The table that had been next to the armchair was then slotted neatly into the space between Mr A and the armchair - with Frances keen as mustard to ensuring the safety of the mustard and condiments.
With some pivoting to perfection, amongst some 'Friends' discussion we got the sofa into the space left by the armchair first time!
Let there be light!
With the old broken lamp from the corner removed and taken down to the garage by Rebecca, Frances moved the good working lamp into its place and plugged it in. Hey presto! 💡
With one final switch of the cricket and another chair our task was complete, with both Mr A and Mrs M chuffed and incredibly thankful.
We said our goodbyes and all headed off our separate ways to again tackle the many hills of Sydenham Hill!
