A stationary patio gathers much moss (and mud)
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hammersmith and Fulham.
- Saturday, 5th of August 2017
This was the third and final mission to help Mr F clear his garden so he could enjoy sitting out in whatever is left of summer! John had run all the way from Camden, and I had just completed Fulham Palace Parkrun, so we were both ready to get stuck into the task.
First up was the front garden hedge, which was beginning to get a bit overgrown and messy. However, in true GoodGym style we made quick work of it, and did such a through job sweeping up the trimmings we decided the street was cleaner than when we started!
The big job was finishing off the back garden. The previous missions had done a great job of removing the overgrown plants, but the thing left to do was clean up the paving, which had been covered by a thick layer of mud, silt, and moss. With John manning the spade and me with the shovel, we spent over an hour scraping, sweeping and bagging up 4 (heavy!) bin bags of rubbish. for the council to take away.
We left with the entire place looking much smarter and neater, and Mr F very happy with the transformation GoodGym has managed to do over the last few months!
