22 Epic GoodGymers ran 6k to Hackney Wick community gardens and shovelled and shifted a cubic tonne of mulch!!

Awesome evening in Hackney Team!! Thanks for coming along and making some much fun and good happen!!

Lovely to have our GG first timers Angus, Ollie and Theoalong for their maiden voyage!! Also loving have a few GG tourists and some retiring Hackney legends!!

Flying out the blocks lead by Peter rolling down towards the river, top chat as always and great to see some 2018 Running/Racing plans taking shape!

Arriving at one of our favourite tasks to meet the lovely Kirsty and Michael we split up Into a 3 groups to make the magic happen!! We had the sweepers to manouvered the estates leaves into neat and tidy piles and used they to bed in a few trees. Then we had the two mulch shifting groups. First in the main garden who had the more delicate task of laying the mulch between the mature plants to help the beds be ultra fertile next Spring. Using any number of buckets, pots and trugs to shift the whole multichannel pile in 40 minutes of action!!

The second group were working on a more industrial scale with a huge pile of mulch to shift and about 200 metres to shift it!! Super team work on show as the Elephant shovel came into its own helping to fill the 6 wheelie bins rapid, then run the mulch over to the new garden, and top it all out!!

Awesome effort from the whole squad was richly rewarded with an amazing biscuit and cordial spread to fuel the rapid run back to base!!

Stretching our legs we powered back dead on time (I hope) where we stretched out and got our prize for the evening!! ** Theo** from Hackney Half delivering the golden discount ticket to 2018’s amazing race!!
