It was a very wet day, Mr G was surprised I turned up head to foot in waterproofs. We had a chat about his next project which was to move some of his planters forward so he had room to plant some thing against the wall. We admired the tulips that had come up, which I planted for him in the winter (see photo) and shared some gardening tips. Mr G then invited me in for a coffee and a Mr Kipling apple pie. Since I had last seen him two vacancies in the sheltered housing scheme had been filled and they were both people he had known for 40 years. He talked about looking forward to using his bench and sitting together with his new found friends, when the weather improved. We talked about different trades and the types of jobs Me G had done as well as businesses in York that were no longer there. Coffee break over, I set off again, still raining ...
