30 GoodGymers ran between 7-8km and helped Antrim Allotments - awesome!

Another Wednesday, another whole load of GOOD. Did you know GoodGym Camden have been doing good for over FOUR YEARS? Here are some hard facts, here is what you at Camden have done:

  1. 6380 Good Deeds
  2. 585 Group Runs
  3. 83 Mission Runs

BOOM - we're great!

We welcomed two newbies; David and Malorie - lovely to have you along!

In the news this week:

  1. It's the GoodGym Monthly Drinks TONIGHT in Peckham, go along for heroes, news, puns and general marvellous GG socialising!
  2. Well done to everyone racing at the moment - including Beat the Boat two weekends ago and good luck to those doing Bath Two Tunnels this weekend!
  3. GoodGym Camden are going to be racing together this September at the Regents Park 10km (Sunday 3rd September) - would be lovely to have a big group of us do it! Sign up here

Onto the task at hand:

We split into two groups to make our way to Antrim Allotments up at Belsize Park, one going over Primrose Hill led by Pritesh. Upon our arrival our contacts Michael and Piers explained what needed doing, we split into various groups of different sizes:

  1. Cutting back and uprooting bindweed - horrible stuff that struggles plants!
  2. Clearing an area of thorns, bindweed, nettles and weeds.
  3. Digging a huge grave shaped hole! To be used for planting a raspberry bush.
  4. Clearing an area of roses, roots and weeds

ALLOT of fun at ANTrim

Highlights included Natasha pulling out a huge root, Tom Benson digging for his life and various people being bitten by ants (not all highlights are good guys).

We thanked Michael and the Antrim Committee for having us and hurried on our way down the hill towards Kings Cross, finishing off with a stretch and a trip to the pub.

Next week we are off to help Ashdown Crescent Sheltered Housing in Kentish Town and Cecil Sharp House, sign up here.

PB out.
