When is it going to warm up?! Not tonight at least as we were treated to a heavy hail storm as we helped resident Stuart weed the rose bushes of Palmeira Square! Katharine, Diego & Amro were particularly hard core as they kept going during the heaviest down pours whilst David and I looked on admiringly from under the partial shelter of a clump of trees!

But whilst the temperatures were low, our spirits remained high as we chatted away as we worked. I even managed to have my first ever Spanish conversation with an actual Spanish person! Thank you Diego for your patience.

Still lots to do at Palmeira, its a big area with only one council gardener covering several other seafront squares so Stuart is very grateful for our help and we will be making regular visits over the summer.

Palmeira & Adelaide Garden Fund
To strengthen our community through the gardens, with each volunteer and every event. One blue bag at a time

Palmeria and Adelaide Garden Fund is a Community Intrest Company created in 2019 and established in 2020 as Palmeira and Adelaide Garden Group CIC. We started off as two concerned garden-loving local residents, and in just two years, our board is now nine-strong. We are a small group of dedicated residents who live in and around Palmeira Square and Adelaide Crescent with significant volunteer support. We started to raise funds to help with the maintenance of our green spaces and bring the community together through regular cleanups, gardening and events.
