Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nykolette
You never really know what to expect when you turn up for a mission and this mission was no different.
So 2 runners arrived at Mrs G’s home and were informed she was waiting for the district nurse, we said we could leave & leave it for another day but were instructed to carry on with the task as we would be in the garden and out of the way.
Now I should mention that this was a pretty special mission for me as it was good deed #100 woo hoo, I would be obtaining my GG wings. Anyway I digress, we got to work on the patio area in the garden, weeding, tidying & chatting away while we worked. Unfortunately after only a short time the district nurse came and told us that Mrs G would have to go into hospital, therefore we would have to finish up at whatever stage we were. Agreed we put things back and motioned to leave.
However the nurse had left by this point and 1 runner sensed the nerves and fear in Mrs G about the pending hospital admission. We both made a decision to stay until the ambulance arrived. During this time we chatted about her life, looked at photos and admired the knitting that Mrs G does for premature babies in the hospital.
When the ambulance arrived we both wished her well and let the paramedics carry out their duties. Mrs G appeared calmer & brighter in mood which made us happier to leave. We left on the note that this is a number 100 that neither of us would ever forget.
