I arrived at New Cross Pharmacy at the allotted time and presented the key details to the staff, who looked bemused, not unsurprisingly because Mr P's medication had within the last few minutes just been picked up by "another young gentleman" (I'll take that compliment, thanks) and therefore they couldn't help me out!

Presuming a mix up somehow I tried to give Mr P a call shortly after to check all was okay, and whilst I was outside the staff member popped out to check whether I'd been able to get through as they were keen to confirm Mr P was indeed sorted.

After a few unsuccessful attempts to get through on the phone, I decided to pop by his house as it was a few minutes away and he happily buzzed me in, confirmed that he had just been given his medication so was all good.

He did however want me to let the pharmacy know and to request they convey another message to his doctor at the surgery, so after a delightful chat covering topics such as NATO, his time in the Army and modern politicians I headed back home calling the pharmacy on the way to let them know all was well and to pass on his message.

So you could say mission accomplished, but only thanks to someone else who did all the meaningful work for me! It got me out of the house into the lunchtime sun and was a delightful distraction from work so I have no cause for complaint.
