New desire paths had started forming at Danesmead Wood, and were getting wider and wider, having an impact on the natural habitat. So GG York were on hand to block off these undersirable desire paths with some big ol' logs!

Kieran got to work sawing the largest log in 2, whilst Dom, Amy, Katie and Vicky lifted some smaller (but still bloomin' big) logs into position to block the paths. Ed supervised the whole thing like a pro and made sure everyone knew exactly what they were doing.

As the Mission went on, more and more logs were shifted. We even made some natural benches by building a sort of log pyramid type thing. The heavier logs required all 6 of us, so Ed finally got his hands dirty and pitched in with the shifting. We never did quite work out whether it was better for the tallest person to be a the front or the back of the log, but it certainly seemed like harder work for some of GG's smaller members.

With 20 mins left to spare we spilt off into two teams of shovellers and wheelbarrowers to shift a load of woodchip to their new position under the rope swing. Fergie presented a health and safety nightmare by trying to get under the feet of the wheelbarrowers, but this did not deter Dom who could not have been happier with his two-wheeled barrow/puschair
