Richard and I as part of biodiversity week got together at the Tiny Forest in Barnet to do some citizen science. It was late in the day and although butterflies have been seen at the Tiny Forest our 10 minute mindful watch produced no sightings for our first experiment. We then set about the biodiversity study lifting the six slabs to identify any life living there. It looks like the first colonisers of the Tiny Forest are the ants. We witnessed significant numbers and also eggs of various sizes.
Ain’t life is incredible!
It was really easy to update the TF portal with the latest information on biodiversity under each slab by just using a link on my phone . Hopefully in the future we will see more than just ants and this will it be an indicator of the improved health of the soil.
Please share and get involved with the tiny Forest citizen science . As these studies (all over the UK) will provide important data.
Do look up!
