Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by JP
A lovely run from different directions for our two enthusiastic GGers saw us come together at our destination house, where we were met by the charming Mr P, who suffered from arthritis, and his lovely wife who had dementia. And we were also met by a task of gargantuan proportions, as we took on our mission to create a more suitable living environment for the couple downstairs. We started with a little light bed-shoving to warm up, then got into the real stuff with some large scale clearing of the living room and annex, moving boxes, filing cabinets and more to make way for beds. Like we were playing a giant game of Tetris, we quickly became masters of fitting boxes and bags into slots, stacking everything up to the ceiling to maximise the space available. Very satisfying, if you like a game of Tetris. The most interesting part of the task (whence the title of this report) was the sorting and boxing of at least 300 pieces of china and porcelain, many from the eastern world, and some of which seemed extremely valuable. Cue extra gentle packing and two person moving of all delicate boxes. Soon it was a good job well done, and a couple of satisfied GG customers. And a lovely run back!!
