Back to the Tart

Good morning, oh it’s Saturday, Parkrun and shopping for Mrs J, V sent the list over yesterday, Let’s get to Asda, I’m on my way!
Most of the usuals were on this weeks edition - the biggest change being no fresh spuds, but two tins instead. They weren’t the only tin that went in though. Oh no, I can assure you we had spaghetti hoops, spam and soup too!
After the lack of prawn cocktails from two weeks ago, we were back in stock, so in they went, as did all the essentials bread and eggs, our sweet treats and of course, it goes without saying, the galaxy.
I paid up, and treated myself to a bag of skips. Some reason I fancied them - and this week I was a pied, as my bike was at home (having been on parkrun travels that morning). I literally skipped out the supermarket and down the shortcut across to Mrs J’s.
She was delighted to see me, but had something very important to ask. I helped take the shopping inside, and she showed me her clock. She had won it at the bingo many years back, but was having battery issues, and needed my assistance to help get the battery out for her so she could get some new ones in.
Out came the AA, and Mrs J was thrilled. She had to reward me somehow… I tried to say no, but Mrs J was fridge raiding for some chocolate. She couldn’t find any, and was very upset about this. I said it was fine, I’d survive, and there were 20 bars for her in the bag I’d just carried inside. She had a little look in, with no luck, and then realised they were at the bottom. ‘Oh they’re right at the bottom how silly, whoever packed these has done a terrible job’.
MRS J, I packed them, and I put them at the bottom so you wouldn’t give me a bar!!! She gave up with the shopping bag, and went back to the fridge, where she did eventually find me a bar of galaxy smooth milk. I couldn’t say no, and she made sure three times between leaving the kitchen and closing her gate that I still had it!!
Thanks Mrs J 🤎 Another week, another shopping mission complete, and another galaxy for my collection courtesy of Mrs J!
