Balloons, Wind and Marquees, Oh My!
5 GoodGymers made their way 4km to help their local community in Greenwich.

This morning we gathered to help set up for a community mission for a local primary school in Blackheath. We got to work with the set up of two gazebos, setting out the medals - which were very snazzy, and marking out the course with balloons.
We put on our high vis, emoji balloons and set out for the 10:30 start of the 5k race for the older students and their family. We marshalled for the first half of the lap and soon many smiling faces were pelting towards our corner. We were asked to keep an eye out for any specific participants who were working really hard or enjoying themselves. We made note of three runners who were trying very hard as they came back round for their second lap and one girl who did cart wheels as she passed. As the last of the runners made their way towards their final 2ks we packed up the balloons and moved into position for the second race, a 1 mile race for younger students.
We set out the balloons and set up ready to cheer on and marshal the second group of runners. We were all impressed with the runners and how well organised the event was! We handed over our high vis and balloons and cheered on the final runners as we headed off for the rest of our Sundays.
