Our first visit back to Belgrave Lock since Mel took us there in June.

Great to see Steve return for his second good deed with us, he enjoyed the run through the city with a short diversion thanks to the towpath along the river being closed. Jen had no such problems running to the task from the opposite direction! Huw, Lindsay and Stu met directly at the task.

With the towpath back towards Abbey Park being closed we headed north instead this time and it certainly needed our attention. Heading up river we filled our five 100 litre heavy duty bags by the time we reached the first bridge, left those by the bin there and crossed over to join National Cycle Network Route 6 alongside Ellis Meadows and headed down there towards Abbey Pumping Station and the Space Centre.

With Lindsay back in the fold it was only a matter of time before we found a shoe - Jen went one better by finding a collection of shoes and wellies all piled up in the bushes! Huw nipped into Ellis Meadows spotting the remnants of a party - regretting it five pizza boxes, multiple bottles and crisp packets and some cutlery later with another bag full of trash!

After five minutes of persuasion to stop we finally called a halt just ten minutes later than we were scheduled to finish the task wih ten huge bags of trash collected and plenty more evading our clutches behind barbed wire fences!

Huw and Lindsay joined Steve on his commute back as far as Abbey Park before turning round and returning to Belgrave Lock to complete Lindsay's first run back after a long frustrating period of injuries - well done Lindsay!

Huw's 100th good deed joins the list of reasons to raise a glass with Jen's recent 100th and GG Leicester's 3rd birthday when we are finally able to meet up together for a social! Hopefully that won't be too far away with cases on the decrease over the last week or so in the city.

Well done everyone!
