Our southern section of benchmarking consisted of Askham Bog, Tesco, Askham Bar Park and Ride and a long stretch of Moor Lane. Amy and Jenna ran off to tackle the lovely but soggy Askham Bog section and ran round it twice, just to make sure they hadn't missed anything and found 3 benches on route. Laura and David tackled the other 2 map sections, cycling down a very benchless Moor Lane and round Tesco and the Park and Ride where they found a few controversial benches (does the park and ride building count as a bus shelter?) as well as the expected one by the road.

To map benches in the Micklegate Ward

Looks at how York does to make the place an age friendly city through World Health Organisation checks. Age Friendly York is currently looking at Getting Out And About and residents are saying they need benches to break up their journey so they can get to the shops and other places.
