Report written by Laura Denham
4 Goodgymers ran to support Clothing Coventry with sorting donations at their warehouse.
As CC HQ haven’t been taking donations during November due to a bit of a re-fit, there was actually room to move around this week! We could see each other working instead of being hidden behind mountains of clothing. Although this made it easier for us to get the work done, CC are looking forward to replenishing their stock so that they can continue to help as many people as possible.
The task owner explained what needed doing and we split into pairs. Laura and Maddie took on the ladies wear emptying bags and boxes of donated clothing and sorting into piles of different sizes. It’s always interesting to see the different clothes that people give away, there were a few bras, some sports clothes, and a dress that looked like it might suit a celeb on stage rather than walking the streets of Cov, but you never know someone might be able to pull it off?! Jackie and Laura sorted the baby clothes, bagging them up into ages from teeny tiny new born to 2 years, cooing over the mini clothes as we went along.
Time seemed to pass by so quickly so we decided to cut out a fitness session and stay as long as we could to help sort as much as possible. When our time was up we said our farewells to the task owner and set off back to CBGC. We did hope to see the re-fit taking shape this time but there has been a delay so we look forward to seeing the changes when we return. Great session everyone!
