Coventry Report written by Laura Denham
We all made our way to Willowbrook with some running, cycling and driving to the task. We were warmly greeted by Claire, who cheerfully laid out our mission: tackle a wild, overgrown planter, dig a hole for a palm tree, and tidy up under the apple tree. With enthusiasm, we dove into the planter, evicting those pesky weeds and prepping for the spring bulb party. James took on the Herculean task of digging through the tough rocky earth and emerged victorious, while the rest of us turned into apple-cleanup experts, gathering fallen fruit like pros. To top off our day, Jackie gave the apple tree a friendly nudge, sending a shower of juicy apples our way. We left with pockets full of apple goodness—deliciously done!
Excellent job everyone, the garden is looking so much better :)
Big shout outs to Lucy who completed 2 good deeds on her first day with GoodGym and Jill for completing her 10th good deed this eve (and also for motivating me to get off my butt and run to the task)

The garden is well used by their Residents and this will enable them to continue to socialise outside and sit and enjoy their outdoor space.

Lucy and Jackie from good gym joined an army of volunteers sorting through the hundreds of items left by students finishing their studies at Warwick Uni . They quickly set to work sorting stuff into clothes, bedding, electrical Kitchen etc . These will all be shared out to those in need either in the Uni or the wider community . A good mornings sorting ensuring that these items don’t end up in landfill !

Tonight, we took to the crown green for a splendid game of bowls, hosted by Scott, his son James and the Chairman Dave. With their expert guidance, we embarked on a journey to find out more about this classic sport. We each picked our own bowl—varying in size and weight—and dove into the challenge. Some of us rolled with ease, while others discovered that aiming for the Jack is trickier than it seems. As we took our turns, the laughter and friendly competition flowed freely. It was fun to try something different and was enjoyed by everyone.
As the bowling season is coming to an end we will see if we can test out our skills again in the spring and they may have a task or 2 for us to help out with too.
Thank you for a lovely night everyone :)

Jackie and Nigel joined forces with Claire at Willow Brook to give some well-worn planters and seating a vibrant makeover. They applied bright, weather-resistant paints to not only shield them from the elements but also enhance their visual appeal.
Great job on revitalizing the space!

Six Coventry Goodgymers (including one newbie - welcome Andy went to Baby Godiva to help with unloading vans to Baby Godiva's shiny new premises.
When the vans arrived, we made quick work of unloading and moving items to different locations in the new space, including buggies, moses baskets, toys and clothes. Whilst we waited for another van to appear, we sorted the mountain of nappies into different sizes, stocked up the shelves with baby bath products, wipes and other essentials, and recycled the cardboard boxes.
Baby Godiva were really pleased with what we were able to do, we hope to be back soon for some more sorting fun!
