Yesterday’s mission was to do a bit of pruning for Paul at Bishop Aldhelm’s School.
The task was to clear some of the vegetation that was growing over a play area for the kids. Lots of bushes and trees that were overhanging and taking up a lot of space. There were also plants growing through the ground, and we can’t have that!!
With lots of tools on hand, gardening tools that is...we slipped on our gloves and started cutting back branches. Trying to push things back to a boundary line that had long been forgotten.
It took us 50 minutes, and the place was transformed! Their compost pile is going to be super grateful too!!
Paul treated us to some squash and biscuits for a job well done. We helped carry the tools back and with a completed task headed into the mild evening feeling much better about ourselves!
Great to see the gang getting to the task on foot or bike. Marianne walked and jogged 13km, Daryl jogged 6.5km, Sarah ran 8km, Caprice cycles a similar distance and I was the odd one out this week!!
There’s another quick task this Saturday if you’re free, if not it’s looking like we’ll be doing some painting next week!! Keep an eye on the website!
