Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Barnet runner
This morning six superb Goodgymmers met at Stephen's House and Gardens to help get it ready for spring.
This is a regular task for goodgym Barnet so it was great to see the volunteer leader Alison again and get started for 2018.
We were joined by Barnet regular Rupesh, Camden regular John, and three newbies: Fiona and Laura (who'll run with Barnet and Haringey respectively) joined us for their first ever task, while Jenny from GG Barnet joined us for her first ever mission. Give them all a cheer!
Today we were tasked with tidying the huge quantity of leaves that descended on the depot area of the park and breaking up and tidying fallen trees that came down after recent snow and storms.
We split into two teams and got to work. Jenny, Laura and I joined regular Stephen's house volunteer Warwick to break up the trees. After about an hour we had got rid of two whole fallen trees and piled up the branches. We were proud of our large pile of wood.
Rupesh, John and Fiona got to work with the leaves. It was a huge job, but they made massive progress in piling up and clearing leaves. After an hour, we joined forces and all set to work on the leaves. An hour later, the yard was looking much clearer.
Alison and Warwick were delighted with our efforts and rewarded us with coffees and hot chocolates in the on site Cafe. Cheers!

Such a great first event and such nice people. The rest of my Sunday will be spent napping and dreaming of leaves
