If a tree falls in Maryon Park and nobody's about does it make a sound? We won't know as when a tree came down in a storm earlier this year someone heard it and it was partially chopped and stored. What happened next was down to Good Gym, and 5 runners turned up in the rain to Maryon Park Community Garden to help regular volunteers Tim and Edna with the next stage of the tree's journey. The task involved some sawing, but mostly moving the branches and other wood up a slope to delineate and define a new border for part of the forest school and slippery work it was. After an hour and half though there was a very professional-looking new fence and our runners adjourned for well-deserved cups of tea and snacks.
