Can I Sticker It
5 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Camden.
- Saturday, 27th of February 2016
On Saturday afternoon 5 GoodGymers helped the volunteers at chalk farm foodbank to sort, sticker and unload food. To make it easier for the volunteers giving out the food, everything is given a colour-coded sticker to show what the expiry date is and then grouped together by type. Some tins were already labeled but for those that weren't they got a sticker and were sorted into crates with similar foods. While we stickered and sorted we chatted about running, a team from the foodbank will be doing the British 10k in July.
Partway through our sorting we helped to unload a van containing new donations. Carrying the crates up the stairs was hard work for most but newcomer Lauren was not content with the light crates she was given at first prompting the delivery drivers to earmark a couple of really heavy ones for her.
It's not only food that has been donated, in among all the tins we also found a calendar of royal baby photos. Andy's personal favourites were the 'caring but casual' March and the odd composition that was December. If you're a fan of photos mostly taken up by Prince William's back, that's the month for you.
