7 Goodgymers rolled up their sleeves to help the Kenilworth Centre with clearing their outdoor space ready for a complete redesign.
We started this task two weeks ago and never wanting to leave a job unfinished, our group was keen to return to clear the rest of the unwanted plants.
There was a number of different tasks to do including chopping back prickly branches which was Vic and Amy's forte before digging up the roots of the old plants which James took great pleasure in mastering.
Allan and Jackie took on the compost pile which was fast increasing with all the cutting back and were trying to re-arrange branches to find more room. This time we were ready with the litter pickers for any rubbish that emerged from underneath the bushes and managed to fill another bin bag full. Finally Allan and Vic tidied up behind us all with the rakes and broom to hide any evidence of us having been there!
As the run to the task was quite short Allan had kindly plotted a run around the streets of Kenilworth to give us the chance to take in some of the window wanderland windows. The highlight was Allan's own contribution and the master of flashy lights didn't disappoint with disco lights and "Under the Sea" music to accompany his under water themed window.
We are sad to see Amy leave as she now has a new job, so will no longer be based in Leamington Spa. It has been lovely to have her as a regular at our weekly group runs and we wish her all the best for the future. We hope to see her again at some point in the future when she comes back to visit friends :-)
