Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Elizabeth
Tonight I met up with the awesome Shawn for a quick Friday night mission.
Our job was a straightforward one: Ms S recently had a bulb blow in her living room, and needed to replace it so that she could get around more safely. However, she's unable to do this herself as she has mobility issues (and it was also one of those sneaky embedded ceiling lightbulbs), and so called GoodGym for help.
After moving a couple of minor furniture items to make way for a step ladder, Shawn bravely led the charge of the light brigade up the ladder before confessing "I've not changed a bulb like this before". I assured him that these things simply require a masonic handshake, and with this helpful guidance, Ms S's super strong flashlight and a couple of tags on and off the ladder (we should totally start our own wrestling team), we were able to exchange the old bulb with a new bulb in a relatively short time. We even remembered to put the furniture back for good measure! 😄
As this was super speedy, Ms S asked if we wouldn't mind moving just a couple of old plates and mugs to a higher shelf in her kitchen cupboards so that she had space on the lowest shelf to place some new ones she'd bought a few months ago. We were more than happy to do this, especially as it involved no ladders and took less than a couple of minutes 😄
Job(s) done, we made our goodbyes to Ms S. Great working with you Shawn! Hopefully catch you on another GoodGym thing soon! :)
