Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
A smaller group of runners than usual met at Roll for the Soul for the easy/hard/easy/hard run to Bramble Hill Farm – a good warm up before a hill in to Victoria Park, then more steady running before the final punishing ascent to the farm.
As we’d only been to the farm a few weeks before, not much had changed, so after a brief tour for the people who had not been to the farm before, we split in to two groups – one to dig a new bed for strawberries next year (yum!) and the other to chop away at more brambles.
Concerns were raised at the end of the task – if we chop down all the brambles, can the farm rightly be called Bramble Hill Farm anymore? Would it just be Hill Farm?
It was a somewhat lethargic group that gathered in the chicken pen for a few fragrant photos, and then we were off… slowly. It seemed that the relaxed pace of farm life had infected us all.
We gradually picked up the pace and by the time we’d summated the hill in Victoria Park, we were tootling along quite nicely.
Back at home base, and we stretched and said our farewells, although a few people stopped at Roll for the Soul for a spot of lunch, which had been well and truly earned!
