On a bright, clear, dry Saturday morning, I set off on my bike to pick up an 'extra tasty' roast chicken for Mr M.

It wasn't long, however, before I came upon treacherous road conditions, so had to push my bike, on equally treacherous pavements. It was clear that no gritting had been done, and I couldn't help but be concerned for anyone having to leave their homes today.

After a very slow, steady, safe walk/ ride, I finally made it to Asda. Having just a chicken to buy, I was in and out in minutes and heading...slowly...back to Mr M.

He was grateful, for once, that he had to stay in, and that he didn't have to face the icy conditions.

My usual speedy descent home, down the brow, was, today a very cautious roll, with my hands permanently on the brakes.

The sun may have been shining, and it was a beautiful morning, but runner/rider/Walker beware...it's scary out there 🥶❄🥶
