Clean up, Clean up
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Saturday, 14th of January 2017
Frances and Sarah went to Ms F's house to help her with some decluttering. Ms F lives near Hampstead Heath so Sarah had a quick run to the top of Parliament Hill on the way. Frances had already done Dulwich Parkrun that morning.
Ms F needed help in her bedroom and spare room. Both rooms are quite cluttered and she isn't able to manage things like getting boxes off high shelves. So with Ms F directing proceedings we got to work in the bedroom. Ms F's 7 year-old grandson is a regular visitor so there was a big pile of toys in the corner of the room. We had a big sort through of these and got rid of anything broken, incomplete or too young for him - the latter went in a pile for the charity shop. We also sorted out the contents of a set of shelves - they were very tidy when we were done with them. Summer clothes were put into a box to come back out later in the year. We also sorted a lot of papers and old travel documents and maps. At the end we had three bags of rubbish and a big pile of things for the charity shop.
We will go back another time to sort out Ms F's spare room.
